Features
  • The Department offers a diversified curriculum with students from various nationalities, and emphasizes the application of learned knowledge, encouraging cross-disciplinary learning.
  • Language courses are taught by French teachers, and elective courses integrate language with practical knowledge, so that students learn to apply their knowledge.
  • Students in their sophomore year and above can apply for exchange to France and Belgium.

Admission Evaluation 
  • Interview (in person or by video conference). After the deadline for application, applicants will be notified by the department of the schedule. The applicant must provide contact information, phone number and email address. Make sure that we can reach you during the daytime (Taiwan time).
  • Additional Documents Required:
  1. Autobiography (Chinese)
  2. Certificate of the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) of level A2 or above, or an internationally accepted certificate of an equivalent level

Remarks
  • Courses are taught in Chinese and French. Most textbooks are in French. Most instructors communicate well in Chinese or French.
  • FJCU Center of Chinese Language and Culture offers fee-paying Mandarin learning courses. The International Student Center offers 6-hour free evening Mandarin courses per week. International students will be assigned buddies to help them boost their Mandarin proficiency.
